WESTERN CAROLINA UNIVERSITY

Dillingham Annual

Construction Management Scholarship

McKenzie began funding a scholarship at Western Carolina University in 2022. Each year the scholarship provides one deserving student a full scholarship to the Construction Management program. The scholarship focuses on students that perform well academically, make impacts on the local community and add diversity to the CM program.

Additionally, as an alumna, McKenzie joined the CM Industry Advisory Board as the first representative for residential construction. McKenzie now joins a handful of residential contractors in guiding the  Construction Management program at WCU. McKenzie was one of 4 females in her graduating class and brings experience and a unique perspective to the decisions about the program's requirements, scholarship opportunities, career paths and much more.

HAYWOOD ST. CONGREGATION

Board Chair

Haywood Street Community Development

On many Sundays McKenzie can be found playing a mandolin with friends at Haywood Street. Yet, it is not the music but the mission of the organization that drew McKenzie to serve on the Board of Directors for Haywood Street's newest endeavor of affordable housing. She and others, help to make sure the organization lives out their mission of "Relationship above all else" as they serve the most vulnerable in Asheville.  This recently unveiled construction project will bring affordable housing to those in the most in our community.
